MAXIMUM PRODUCTION FLEXIBILITY WITH OUR NEW COIL CUTTING MACHINE

Industrial world has always been marked out by speed and the ability to adapt quickly to changing market needs. And it is with this in mind that, in 2023, we at Eurotubi decided to invest in the acquisition of a great new piece of machinery: a Coil Cutting Machine, also known as Slitting Line.

It is an impressive machine used to shear metal coils. This process, also referred to as slitting, allows a huge roll of metal, called coil in the technical jargon, to be transformed into narrower rolls ready for later production.

The introduction of a Slitting Line fits perfectly into Eurotubi’s production landscape, characterized by innovation and versatility from the very beginning. In particular, for us at Eurotubi, investing in the installation of this new cutting machine has enabled us to achieve unprecedented flexibility in production volumes, thus making us able to adapt with agility to both periods of intense production and the demand for smaller custom orders.

This project is not only one more step toward our constant drive for technological innovation, but has been an important investment strategy. In fact, this milestone introduction has definitely verticalized both our production and purchase process, enabling us to manage the entire manufacturing since the beginning.

Having a slitting line inside our plant has given us the ability to manage and establish direct relationships with steel mills and service centers. This makes us incredibly flexible, allowing us to meet even the most demanding requirements without compromising the quality of our products.

In particular, our new cutting line is a high-tech machine therefore capable of cutting large amounts of material quickly and efficiently, providing an extremely precise and uniform cut. In addition, this slitting line is highly versatile as it can process different types of material, from galvanized steel to Magnelis or from stainless steel to aluminate.

Being able to carry out the slitting process in-house allows us as producers to make full use of the raw materials at our disposal. In fact, by cutting the coil into precise widths as needed for our different applications, we minimize waste, and this is not only an economic benefit for us and our customers, but also a concrete action toward environmental sustainability.

The benefits offered to our customers by the new coil cutting line in a nutshell:

The installation of this new cutting line was not easy; on the contrary, it took a full year of work involving various professionals from inside and outside our company.

It started with a careful structural and architectural assessment of the building where we were to install the line. In fact, the foundations of this machinery reach an extraordinary depth of 12 meters, which is why it was crucial to assess how and when to go about introducing the slitting line inside an existing and operational plant.

Having passed this delicate and crucial initial phase, we moved on to the actual installation followed by moments of testing and analysis to constantly verify that all steps had been carried out correctly.

Our team’s impeccable teamwork and tireless desire to grow brought this complex and challenging project to completion at the end of November 2023, a full 4 weeks ahead of the planned schedule! Once again, the Eurotubi team outdid itself and began to concretely verticalize the production process by purchasing the first steel coils weighing a modest 30 tons as early as early December 2023.
