Steel coils, also known as coils, are sheets of steel produced by steel mills through a rolling process. During this process, the metal is heated to high temperatures and rolled through a series of rolls to achieve the desired shape and final dimensions. Once obtained, the steel sheets are wound into appropriately sized coils for transportation and storage.

How are the steel coils cut?

Steel coils are cut into strips with a predetermined width to fit specific production requirements, such as tube fabrication. This cutting process is performed using a Slitting Line – also known as coil cutting machine – an industrial facility that allows continuous longitudinal cutting of coils into strips. The coil is sheared longitudinally and continuously into several strips separated by rotating knives.
