The history of JACOB began in the Golden Twenties of the last century. On April 1, 1924, the engineer Friedrich Jacob founded his company – in Porta Westfalica, at the gateway to Westphalia.
At the beginning, the company’s focus was on the manufacture of square wooden pipes that were used in mill construction and for the gravitational conveying of flour and grain. Over the decades, JACOB increasingly specialized in the manufacture of metal pipe systems for numerous applications, such as bulk material handling and dust extraction and exhaust air systems for environmental technology – with success.
In the 1980s, the company achieved a breakthrough in the general industry market, so that JACOB products gained a foothold in many sectors and were delivered to numerous countries. Internationalization gained momentum and in the following decade the first subsidiaries were founded in Germany, France, Italy, Great Britain, the Czech Republic and the USA.
The family business, now run by the fourth generation, employs more than 650 people and is the world’s leading supplier of modular pipe systems based on the modular principle.
Still a family business today
Today the company is run by the founder’s great-grandson, Patrick Jacob, and by Klaudine Gericke.
The duo agree that JACOB’s 100-year success story is above all thanks to its employees. « They have made the company what it is. People are the cornerstone of our success and our family cohesion, which we cultivate as a central corporate value, » emphasizes Patrick Jacob.
The management is proud of what the team has achieved and accomplished over the decades. « We would like to thank each and every one of them for this, including our customers and partners, » emphasises Patrick Jacob.
No one can say what the next 100 years will look like for the company. But one thing is certain due to the JACOB philosophy: the family business will continue to walk the path into the future together with the people.
Three days of celebrations in Porta Westfalica
EUROTUBI, founded in 1995 by Doctor Ralf Jacob, is a daughter company of Jacob Sohne GmbH & Co. Group.
Last week, we had the great pleasure of attending the golden century celebration of JACOB, the parent company of our group. An event marked a historic milestone and allowed us to experience three intense days filled with unique moments.
We had the chance to dive deeper into JACOB’s successful journey, a story of commitment, innovation, and dedication that has accompanied its customers worldwide for 100 years.
It was a pleasure to come together, not only to celebrate the past but also to look toward the future with new inspirations and energy.
A special thank you goes to the organization that took care of every detail, made us feel welcome, and ensured we had a great experience.
